Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)
Department: Mile Bluff Medical Center - Long-Term Care Unit
Available Positions:
- Full-time, 80 hours per pay period; Day Shift or Night Shift
- Part-time, 32 hours per pay period; Evening/Night Shift
- Part-time, 16 hours per pay period; Day Shift
Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend Weekend shift differential available
Holiday Rotation: Rotating holidays
Additional Information: **Full-time positions are eligible for a sign-on bonus**
Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse is responsible for planning, directing, and evaluating comprehensive nursing care in accordance with established standards of practice.
Position Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional nursing care by organizing and directing the nursing functions for patients within the unit.
- Prepare, administer, and document medications in line with established policies.
- Initiate and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Assign nursing tasks based on the skill levels of staff members.
- Maintain high standards of patient care.
- Identify issues and guide staff towards solutions.
- Foster a work environment that promotes growth and job satisfaction.
- Accurately and promptly execute physicians' orders.
- Administer medications and intravenous solutions competently.
- Ensure accurate and complete documentation and reporting.
- Ensure necessary supplies and equipment are readily available.
- Engage in planning for improvements and changes.
- Participate in safety programs.
- Support and enforce infection control and antibiotic stewardship policies.
- Remain resourceful and composed during emergencies.
- Keep the Director of Nursing or Charge Nurse informed of patient needs and issues.
- Participate in orientation and training programs for staff.
- Evaluate staff performance and recommend appropriate actions.
- Assist in reviewing and updating policies and procedures.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
- Demonstrate concern and initiative.
- Adhere to organizational policies.
- Exhibit promptness and efficiency with minimal absences.
- Collaborate effectively with nursing staff, medical staff, other departments, and visitors.
- Respond promptly to residents' requests and call lights.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
Position Requirements:
Minimum Education:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Current RN license to practice in the state
Required Skills:
- Current CPR certification
- Excellent customer service abilities
- Self-motivated
- Empathy for patient needs
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate in spoken and written English
- Treat patients and others with respect and courtesy
- Ensure confidentiality and security of patient medical information
