Transportation Director

Job Summary:

The Director of Transportation is responsible for overseeing all Transportation department operations, ensuring safety, service, and cost targets are met. This role involves strategic planning, leadership, and management of Transportation Managers and drivers to achieve department objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement transportation strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Lead a team of Transportation Managers and drivers to achieve department objectives.
• Ensure compliance with company, state, and federal DOT regulations.
• Monitor production goals and maintain a zero-error attitude to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction.
• Identify and stop waste and improve processes to complete work more safely and efficiently.
• Collaborate with the VP Operations to ensure productivity objectives are achieved.

Requirements:

• Minimum of seven years of experience in transportation/delivery management.
• Broad knowledge of transportation/delivery operations, methods, and procedures.
• Strong leadership, communication, and people development skills.
• Ability to interpret financial and operational data.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).

Work Environment:

This role requires occasional travel and working in an office environment. Must be able to perform physical activities such as standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
