Youth Counselor

A Kid's Place of Tampa Bay Inc is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our direct care staff, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for children in our care.

This is an hourly, non-exempt position that requires a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration. You will work closely with other staff members to ensure the well-being and stability of the children, and will be responsible for providing direct supervision, monitoring safety and security, and maintaining a positive and respectful demeanor at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct supervision of children in accordance with Department of Children and Families staffing ratios.
• Monitor the safety, security, and well-being of children, and intervene as necessary to prevent safety hazards.
• Maintain a positive and respectful demeanor towards children at all times.
• Work collaboratively with other direct care staff to ensure a sense of stability and continuity for children.
• Attend all necessary training sessions, including First Aid, CPR, and safety training.
• Participate in internal staff meetings and contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to be added to the company's insurance carrier.
• At least one year's related experience preferred.
• Ability to pass a criminal background and drug screening.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with individuals and children from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
