Position Overview

Work Atmosphere:

Supporting children's growth, learning, and skill acquisition is a deeply fulfilling endeavor. Our Educators are tasked with designing and executing child care programs for young learners. They must ensure the safety and development of these children in alignment with Steeplechase Academy's standards and in accordance with the regulations set forth by the State of Missouri's Department of Education. Educators are expected to treat children and parents with respect, ensuring that all equipment and facilities are maintained in a clean and safe condition. Inadequate service provision could jeopardize the well-being of the children.

Steeplechase Academy provides comprehensive benefits for our full-time staff, including health insurance, dental and vision coverage, child care discounts, paid time off, and paid holidays.

Compensation:

$16 - $22 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement activities that cater to the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of children
  • Develop daily, weekly, and monthly activity schedules
  • Facilitate activities that stimulate curiosity, exploration, and problem-solving at each child's developmental stage
  • Engage in reading sessions with children
  • Maintain emergency procedures at all times
  • Create a vibrant and enjoyable classroom environment
  • Ensure constant supervision of children across all areas of the facility (including restrooms, classrooms, hallways, and playground)
  • Interact with children at their level consistently
  • Maintain open communication with parents regarding program expectations, activities, and their child's progress, fostering positive relationships with both parents and colleagues.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Teaching or Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in an educational environment
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to pass a mandatory background check
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
