Job Description

Lincoln Repair is a leading auto repair shop in Bismarck and Mandan, North Dakota, known for providing high-quality repair and customer service. We strive to create a work environment where our technicians feel valued and supported.

As an Automotive Mechanic, you will be responsible for identifying mechanical problems, performing tests, and repairing or replacing malfunctioning parts. You will also be expected to perform routine and preventive maintenance, including oil changes and tune-ups.

We offer a competitive salary range of $50,000 to $80,000 per year, as well as top-of-the-line medical, dental, and vision insurance. Our retirement plan includes a company match and profit sharing. We also offer additional benefits that we would be happy to discuss during your interview.

Our work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM to 5:30 PM, with a 1-hour lunch break. We believe in giving our employees time to spend with family and friends, which is why we are not open on weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify mechanical problems using visual inspection or computer diagnostic equipment.
  • Perform tests on specific parts and systems to confirm proper mechanical function.
  • Repair or replace malfunctioning parts and systems.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance.
  • Test drive vehicles to ensure repairs are completed correctly.

Preferred Skills:

  • Valid driver's license and ability to be insured by our auto insurance.
  • Extensive knowledge of vehicle repair.
  • Excellent mechanical repair skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues.
  • Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment and software.
  • Ability to read service and repair manuals.
  • Ability to perform repairs in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to read work orders.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • ASE Certification A1 through A8 preferred.
  • Three to five years of related experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
  • Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to inspect vehicle to determine repairs needed.
  • Good vision to inspect repair work.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
