We are a 46-bed unit that specializes in caring for cardiothoracic patients after surgery. Our team provides medical, physical, and emotional support to patients undergoing cardiac, pulmonary, and transplant care. We admit post-surgical patients on the day of surgery, after the cardiovascular recovery unit, or from the Cardiothoracic ICU, depending on their procedure and clinical needs.

Responsibilities
  • Take vital signs and monitor patients' conditions
  • Check blood sugars and perform wound care
  • Assist with ambulation and catheterization
  • Document patient information accurately and timely
  • Communicate with healthcare team members to ensure quality patient care

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days
  • Experience in direct patient care (preferred)
