Position Overview:
The Functional Safety Manager will oversee the comprehensive management of functional safety within the engineering domain of Bosch Automotive Brake Systems. Key responsibilities include:
- Defining and analyzing functional safety requirements based on customer specifications, while prioritizing safety standards and constraints.
- Conducting design analyses to support the development of safety case arguments for electronic stability control systems.
- Creating and updating hazard and risk assessments, safety plans, and both functional and technical safety concepts.
- Specifying safety requirements and concepts for various systems and components.
- Assisting in the definition of safety requirements for hardware and software architectures.
- Evaluating system designs and architectures to ensure compliance with safety requirements, considering all hardware-software components and their interactions.
- Collaborating with design teams to develop robust technical solutions that meet ISO26262 standards and Bosch processes.
- Leading and supporting safety assessment reviews conducted by safety assessors.
- Performing safety analyses using standard methods such as FMEA and FTA, and communicating findings to the responsible system design teams.
- Supporting safety verification and validation activities.
- Participating in customer safety review meetings.
Travel Expectation: Up to 10% (Domestic and International)
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in system engineering.
- At least 1 year of experience in system or functional safety, with knowledge of standards such as ISO26262, DO178c, IEC 61508, STAMP, or MIL-STD-882.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with electronic stability control technologies and vehicle electrical architecture.
- Experience with agile methodologies, DOORS, and IQ-RM Pro.
- Background in embedded software development for safety-critical automotive systems.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with teams and external stakeholders.
- A passion for innovation and a deep understanding of software systems and applications.
- Ability to work independently in a structured and organized manner.
