We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at the SUNY Poly Wellness Center: Health & Counseling Services. As a Medical Assistant, you will provide clinical and clerical support in a college healthcare setting, working directly with students, faculty, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional patient care, including greeting students, scheduling appointments, and entering documentation into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Perform routine laboratory procedures, such as specimen collection and processing, and obtain and record patient information, including vital signs.
- Work collaboratively with Wellness Center staff, including the director, clerical, clinical, counseling, and health promotion staff.
- Utilize EMR and Banner software to maintain schedules, schedule appointments, and scan in necessary medical documentation.
- Assist students with navigating the student health insurance process and provide support with scheduling meetings and travel arrangements.
- One year of full-time experience performing clinical and clerical support activities in a healthcare setting, or completion of a college, university, technical school, or vocational school medical assistant program.
- Preferred qualifications include Medical Assistant Certification or LPN.
- Excellent communication and organization skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with EMR and Microsoft software, with experience with Banner software application for Higher Education a plus.
