Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Transylvania Regional Hospital. As a key member of our Cardiology Services department, you will be responsible for performing all facets of cardiac ultrasound testing, including two-dimensional, Doppler, transesophageal, and stress echocardiography.

Responsibilities
  • Perform cardiac ultrasound testing using various modalities, including echocardiography, Doppler, and transesophageal echocardiography.
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Prepare patients for testing, explaining procedures and answering questions to ensure a positive experience.
  • Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and departmental efficiency.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited cardiac sonography program or have practiced as a sonographer for greater than 2 years.
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer with Cardiovascular Credentialing International or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers; or be registry eligible and obtain registry within one year of employment.
  • BCLS (Adult) certification.
  • Preferred: ACLS (Adult) certification.
