Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as an On-Call PRN Nurse. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to our clients and residents, covering shifts and time frames as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide quality nursing care to all clients and residents, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Assist with health care policies, procedures, and services, maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
  • Teach Medication Administration classes and provide clinical training for Habilitation Techs and Medication Techs.
  • Supervise LPN and Transporter positions, ensuring seamless care delivery.
  • Perform monthly Quality Assurance checks of all houses med rooms and review Medication Administration Records (MARs).
  • Participate in assessing daily health care and medical care needs of clients, including daily rounds and evaluation of care.
  • Assist in planning needed care for clients, including implementation of nursing interventions and medical orders.
  • Respond appropriately in cases of emergency, prioritizing client safety.
  • Keep parents, physician, and related personnel informed concerning client health needs, problems, and progress.
  • Provide input into nursing programmatic policies and procedures, ensuring best practices.
  • Assist in determining equipment and supply needs, maintaining a well-stocked and sanitary environment.
  • Keep supervisor informed of related needs, problems, and recommendations pertinent to client care and health.
  • Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team, attending annual Habilitation plan meetings for residents.
  • Participate in on-call system per agency policy, ensuring seamless coverage.
  • Assist in orientation and training of new staff in health care issues, roles of the nurse, and shift assignments.
  • Participate in resident admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Give direct care as needed, prioritizing client needs.
  • Monitor direct care staff for compliance with infection control measures, maintaining a safe environment.
  • Other duties as assigned, ensuring the highest level of care.

Requirements:
  • Current North Carolina Registered Nurse License, adhering to all ethical standards.
  • Valid North Carolina Driver's License, ensuring safe transportation.
  • Current CPR and NCI Certification, prioritizing client safety.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions, record basic data, and document observations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and community members, ensuring seamless care delivery.
