Pharmacy Technician Job Description

**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at County Market. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accurate dispensing of medications and maintaining a well-organized pharmacy environment.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Assist pharmacists with filling prescriptions accurately and efficiently
* Receive and store incoming supplies, including medications and medical equipment
* Count and record inventory levels to maintain accurate records
* Bill insurance companies and understand Medicare regulations
* Translate prescriptions into the computer system for pharmacist approval
* Input prescription orders accurately and in a timely manner according to established guidelines
* Assist in completing and updating medication profiles for patients
* Maintain complete and accurate dispensing records
* Contact physician offices for refills of continued prescriptions, as permitted by state regulations

**Requirements:**

* High school diploma or equivalent required
* One to three months of related experience or training preferred
* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
* Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
* Basic math concepts (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and fractions)

**Work Environment:**

* Regularly stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, communicate with associates and customers, and lift and/or move up to 15 pounds
* Frequently walk and lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
* Occasionally sit
