Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our dynamic Medical/Surgical unit at Mercy Hospital Washington. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care to adults and pediatric patients, working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to medical and post-operative patients, including vital sign monitoring, wound care, and medication administration.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing evidence-based interventions.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices and policies.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
  • Current LPN licensure in the state of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
  • LPN-IV Certification (must be completed within 3 months of hire).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient-centered care and teamwork.
