Job Summary

The Machining Equipment Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and efficiency of CNC machines within our manufacturing environment. This position requires a strong background in engineering, with a focus on equipment maintenance, repair, and improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for planned and unplanned repairs, modifications, and upgrades of CNC machining production equipment.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of equipment improvement projects, from concept through design and implementation.
  • Support day-to-day resolution of complex technical issues facing the team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maximize critical production equipment and drive business growth.
  • Develop and implement maintenance plans to ensure equipment uptime and productivity.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
  • 4+ years of professional or internship/project hands-on experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment.
  • Experience with CNC machining operations and repair.
  • Physical effort including standing, lifting, and carrying equipment up to 30 lbs. unassisted.
  • Available to work extended hours and some weekends.
  • Willing to travel for short trips as needed, up to 10% travel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of maintenance planning experience.
  • 2+ years of supporting troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading maintenance technicians through complicated technical troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Experience with Siemens CNC control systems 840D.
  • Experience with CNC, multi-axis milling, and turning technology.
  • Knowledge of part programming, commissioning, operating, and troubleshooting CNC machines.
  • Experience with aligning, calibrating, and validating CNC machines.
  • Experience coordinating contractors to execute projects and equipment repairs.
  • Developed understanding of mechanical, fluid, and electrical components.
  • Lean manufacturing training or experience.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills; capable of communicating summarized accomplishments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail oriented, organized, and able to demonstrate a high sense of urgency.
  • Excellent skill level using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
