POSITION SUMMARY
The Chemical Solutions Production Specialist is responsible for executing tasks related to the formulation of PTS chemical solutions within a dynamic and fast-paced GMP manufacturing setting. This role necessitates a solid foundation in chemistry, meticulous attention to detail, and outstanding communication skills. The specialist may also assist in managing inventory and preparing solutions. Key responsibilities include compounding chemical solutions, impregnating membranes, and cutting membranes to meet company quality standards. The ideal candidate will quickly adapt to existing workflows, demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, exhibit excellent teamwork and interpersonal abilities, and possess effective problem-solving skills in a high-pressure environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Formulating chemical solutions
- Impregnating membranes with specified chemical solutions
- Cutting membranes to the required dimensions as per the Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Monitoring and managing raw material and in-process inventory
- Operating standard laboratory equipment, including:
- Eppendorf, Volumetric and Serological Pipettes
- Analytical Balances
- pH meters
- Conductivity meters
- Cleaning and maintaining laboratory equipment and parts
- Providing operational support to Research & Development and Quality Assurance
- Acting as a proxy for the Chemical Production Supervisor
- Assisting production staff to ensure timely completion of production schedules
- Executing Material Authorization System (MAS) transactions
QUALIFICATIONS
- Flexibility to work irregular and extended hours as needed
- Ability to lift approximately 25 lbs.
- Capability to sit for extended periods when required
- Proficiency in using various hand tools for equipment setup
- Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to detail
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific field
- Preferred prior experience in chemical compounding production
- Previous laboratory or Quality Control experience
- Experience in the medical device sector or other FDA-regulated industries is advantageous
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
WORK ENVIRONMENT
