Scanning Operations Manager

To deliver exceptional customer experiences while maintaining pricing integrity across the store, ensure the scanning team is well-equipped and effective in their roles. This role requires strong communication and leadership skills to maintain a high level of store sanitation, health, and safety. Key responsibilities include training scanning department associates, monitoring competition, and ensuring accurate pricing and labeling. The ideal candidate will have experience in scanning coordination, sales, and customer service, with excellent communication and people skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Train scanning department associates on standards of merchandising, quality product, sanitation, sales plan execution, and allowable shrink.
- Monitor competition and provide feedback and recommendations to the President.
- Maintain highest level of store sanitation, health, and safety.
- Ensure accurate pricing and labeling of all items in the store.
- Make sure scanning clerks maintain accurate pricing files to match weekly circulars and newspaper ads.
- Ensure compliance with Company policies and regulations, as well as government pricing standards.
- Maintain pricing integrity on the sales floor by ensuring all items are properly signed, tagged, and scanned correctly.
- Perform duties in accordance with hand washing standards and use disposable gloves when handling food.
- Be knowledgeable about the location of items in the store.
- Promote for sale any current charitable promotions to customers.
- Understand and adhere to Company shrink guidelines as relates to Scanning Department operations.
- Utilize and maintain equipment as required by the department; report any equipment problems immediately.
- Greet all customers and provide them with prompt, courteous service and assistance.
- Ensure effective, timely communications with all departments.
- Work cooperatively with others.
The ideal candidate will have experience in scanning coordination, sales, and customer service, with excellent communication and people skills. They will be able to work effectively in a team environment and maintain a high level of store sanitation, health, and safety.
Working Conditions:
The Scanning Operations Manager will work in a fast-paced retail environment, with frequent interactions with customers and colleagues. They will be required to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull, and regularly lift 25 lbs., and occasionally lift to 50 lbs. They will also be required to work in varying temperatures and tolerate dust and cleaning agents during routine housekeeping duties.
