As a Commercial Risk Solutions Specialist, you will be an integral part of our team, dedicated to delivering exceptional service to our commercial clients. Your primary responsibility will be to build and maintain professional working relationships with clients, insurance companies, and agency personnel.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining accurate and consistent client files in our Agency Management System, ensuring proper documentation and communication in accordance with company workflows and best practices.
  • Creating professional business correspondence via letter, email, and other means to effectively communicate with clients and stakeholders.
  • Performing accounting and math-related functions, including invoicing, premium allocation, and other tasks as necessary.
  • Monitoring claims and communicating information to others in the agency, maintaining up-to-date claims information in the system and providing guidance and assistance to clients as needed.
  • Interacting with colleagues and clients effectively, utilizing good communication skills and cooperating to achieve the goals of the company.
  • Attending client meetings with Advisors or Directors of Risk Management, as requested.
  • Assisting colleagues in responding to client inquiries and processing work when needed.
  • Managing the day-to-day activities of client accounts, including policy review, changes, and updates, contract review for certificates processing, preparing renewal documents, marketing and negotiating insurance programs, filing surplus lines, reviewing leases, and financial statements related to client insurance.
  • Assisting clients with inquiries via telephone and email, relaying information and following up for timely service to the insured.
  • Counseling and advising clients on coverage and exposure, recommending and placing additional coverage as needed.
  • Actively seeking referrals from the current client base to solicit new business prospects, following up to generate new business using the prospect database and automation system.
  • Cultivating strong relationships with insurance company partners and being responsible for knowing carrier requirements and attributes.
  • Looking for opportunities to improve the firm, business segment, and processes, bringing issues and discrepancies to the attention of appropriate leadership.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrating effective presentation skills through both verbal and written communications.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with the ability to learn other insurance company and firm software programs.
  • Demonstrating the firm's core values and exuding behavior aligned with the corporate culture.

Education & Experience:

  • Obtaining and maintaining a state insurance license(s) as required by the State Department of Insurance to provide risk management consulting or risk transfer solutions in states where the firm operates (or being willing and able to obtain all required licenses within the first 90 days of employment).
  • 3+ years of experience in a Commercial Account Manager role.

Estimated Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
