The Advanced Practice Nurse delivers comprehensive healthcare services to assigned patients under the supervision of a physician. Adheres to established nursing protocols, procedures, and practices, while providing guidance to nursing and support staff. Assesses the outcomes of direct patient care and collaborates with other specialists as necessary. Modifies nursing care strategies as needed to ensure the highest quality of patient care. Coordinates patients' prescribed diagnostic and therapeutic services. Oversees and verifies the accuracy of documentation in patient medical records. Offers preventive healthcare services to long-term patients and facilitates consultations and referrals. Conducts physical examinations and may prescribe and recommend treatments and medications.
CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-Shoreline is a leading acute care medical facility in the region, offering a comprehensive array of diagnostic and surgical specialty services, particularly in cardiac, cancer, and stroke care. It serves as the primary emergency facility in the area and is recognized as the only Level II Trauma Center in the Coastal Bend, staffed with professionals trained in emergency medical services.
- The Pavilion and the Critical Care Center feature a cutting-edge Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, and surgical facilities.
- A teaching institution affiliated with the Texas A&M University System Health Science Center College of Medicine.
- Designated as an Accredited Chest Pain Center.
- Recognized Joint Commission Stroke Team.
The Shoreline campus is a premier facility hosting many of the region's essential and esteemed programs, including a Primary Stroke Center, a nationally accredited Cancer Center, and a recognized Chest Pain Center. The Pavilion at CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-Shoreline houses the CHRISTUS Spohn Heart Network, acknowledged as one of the top 100 cardiovascular hospitals in the United States. The Heart Institute provides advanced diagnostic, surgical, and rehabilitative cardiac services in one accessible location.
Qualifications:
- Advanced Nursing Degree/Master's Degree required.
- Experience in a specialized area of practice.
- Background in both clinical and management roles is essential.
- Proven ability to solve problems and promote services. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated commitment to customer service, teamwork, and interdepartmental collaboration based on Continuous Quality Improvement principles.
- Current Texas State Advanced Practice Nurse license.
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- South NICU – NRP certification within 90 days of hire/transfer.
