Job Summary:The Senior Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse will provide professional nursing care to patients undergoing infusion therapy, adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations.
Responsibilities:- Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
- Assess health status by interviewing patients regarding current status and medical history.
- Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.
- Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
- Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
- Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record the information in the patient chart.
- Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre-testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals, and future appointments for patients.
- Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient's chart.
- As necessary, facilitate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care.
- Assist patients in locating available community resources.
- Inter professional collaboration.
- Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
- Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.
- RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Five years nursing experience.
