Position Overview:

We are in search of a highly skilled Senior Model-Based Systems Engineer who possesses a deep understanding of systems thinking and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) to contribute to significant defense initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance in MBSE for the Systems Engineering Group within the Strategic Deterrence Mission Area.
  • Utilize advanced MBSE techniques to develop comprehensive system models, architecture frameworks, and engineering processes for critical strategic weapon systems.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of technical specialists to innovate and enhance digital engineering capabilities.
  • Conduct thorough requirements analysis, concept development, and risk assessments for complex systems.
  • Deliver formal presentations to stakeholders, effectively communicating proposed solutions and analytical findings.
  • Define model-based design review criteria and refine the systems engineering process to integrate advanced MBSE methodologies.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in systems engineering, particularly in the design and evaluation of complex systems.
  • Proficiency in system modeling using UML/SysML and related software tools.
  • Demonstrated experience applying MBSE principles in system development.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Willingness to travel periodically for collaboration with sponsors and contractors.
  • Eligibility to obtain a Secret level security clearance, with the potential for Top Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates who exceed the minimum qualifications will have:

  • An advanced degree in systems engineering.
  • Over 10 years of experience in systems engineering for strategic deterrence missile systems.
  • Relevant certifications in systems engineering.
  • Experience with modeling frameworks and tools such as MagicDraw and DOORS.
  • Knowledge of digital engineering processes and DoD acquisition practices.
