Position Overview:
We are in search of a skilled and innovative machinist who enjoys tackling complex projects. Successful candidates will have substantial experience in job shop or short-run environments and will be proficient in programming, setting up, and operating their own work. A solid foundation in GD&T and the ability to inspect in-process components is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently utilize machine tools and time to produce quality components
- Develop clear and logical programs for high-complexity parts using Mastercam
- Design and implement new and intricate work-holding fixtures
- Set up both new and recurring high-complexity components
- Perform secondary operations such as deburring with expertise
- Conduct basic to advanced preventative maintenance on machinery
- Collaborate with production management, engineering, and quality assurance to enhance processes
Required Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Proficient in using Windows-based PCs
- Advanced skills in CAM software
- Comprehensive understanding of blueprints
- Ability to apply basic mathematics relevant to machining
- In-depth knowledge of GD&T and its application
- Advanced troubleshooting skills for machine and programming issues
- High attention to detail
- Extensive knowledge of cutting tools and their applications
- Proficient with measuring instruments, such as micrometers and calipers
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments
- Capability to lift 30-50 pounds regularly
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma (required); Associate degree in Machine Tool Technology is highly preferred
- GD&T certification (required)
- Experience in producing tight tolerance components in both production and prototype settings
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in ISO or AS environments
