Overview:
This role involves supporting the Controller in executing fundamental accounting tasks within the CareFlite Accounting Department. Responsibilities include participating in monthly and annual financial closes, managing daily banking activities, and performing various reconciliations. The individual will also assist with accounts payable and contribute to accounting analysis.

Commitment to CareFlite's mission and core values is essential, along with a readiness to embody these values in all professional interactions.

The incumbent will engage actively in the organization and support necessary changes for its sustainability.

Reporting Structure:
This position reports directly to the Controller.

While this role does not involve supervising other staff, collaboration with colleagues is crucial for resolving accounting challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Controller and departmental managers to address any arising issues. Track fixed asset additions and maintain prepaid schedules. Assist with accounts payable invoice entry and purchase orders as required. This role may also involve generating weekly accounts payable checks and assisting with documentation.
  • Promptly report any discrepancies or omissions in accounting records.
  • Participate actively in quality assurance and improvement initiatives as directed by the supervisor, providing constructive feedback on processes affecting their role.
  • Identify and communicate efficiency or cost-saving suggestions to the immediate supervisor.
  • Support co-workers consistently and seek additional tasks when personal assignments are completed.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Preferred experience of at least one year, though not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in word processing and Excel.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Great Plains and SQL is preferred but not required.
