Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to join our team at Highlands Behavioral Health System. As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to individuals with mental health needs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care and supervision to patients, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions and activities to promote patient engagement and socialization.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding, to maintain patient dignity and independence.
  • Document patient observations and behavior, providing valuable insights for treatment planning and care coordination.
  • Contribute to a safe and clean environment by performing basic housekeeping tasks and maintaining patient living areas.
  • Escort patients to off-site events, such as recreational activities or medical appointments, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Promote a positive and respectful work environment by demonstrating empathy, understanding, and professionalism.
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in behavioral health care.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in a human services field preferred.
  • Two+ years of education focused on nursing, psychology, social service, medicine, or a related field, or completion of EMT, CNA, Medical Assistant, Security Training program, or equivalent preferred.
  • At least one year of relevant experience preferred.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license in the applicable state.
