Dental Assistant Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team at Touro University New York. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our students and faculty during dental procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist students and/or faculty during dental procedures, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Prepare for dental procedures by setting up instruments, equipment, and materials, adhering to sterile technique standards.
- Coordinate dental materials inventory with the dispensary, ensuring timely replenishment of supplies.
- Assist students in manipulating diagnostic radiographs, maintaining accurate records, and adhering to OSHA regulations.
- Perform lab duties, including taking vital signs, preparing patient charts, and packaging tissue and biopsy specimens.
- Obtain and replenish supplies, maintaining a clean and visually presentable clinic environment.
- Participate in morning huddles, proactively informing providers and management of equipment, instrument, or supply issues.
- A college degree (AS) with Dental Assistant experience or General education degree or high school diploma with three to five years' dental assistant experience.
- Registered Dental Assistant in NYS is a must.
- Experience in a dental office required.
- Certifications: CPR Certification Required.
- Experience with dental practice management computer systems, such as AxiUm.
- General administrative duties required.
- A high degree of interpersonal competency, professionalism, diplomacy, judgment, and discretion required.
This position requires compliance with Touro's Vaccine Mandate policy and the ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
