The Commissioning Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the engineering excellence and quality management of one or more commissioning projects. This project position is responsible for supporting the greater commissioning team and providing commissioning engineering support during all phases of commissioning project planning and execution.
Key Responsibilities- Collaboration with Team Members: Support the Commissioning Manager and Sr. Commissioning Engineer, as well as the greater commissioning team, in the safe and efficient execution of commissioning projects.
- Design Review Participation: Participate in project design reviews during design development and assist Engineering Contractor as required.
- Documentation Development: Assist with the development of all commissioning documentation, including execution plans, system Commissioning procedures, construction/commissioning check-sheets, and project schedules.
- Facility Pre-Startup Procedures: Assist with the development of facility pre-startup procedures, such as nitrogen leak testing, nitrogen purging, vessel initial fills, production train circulation, etc.
- Systems Completion Strategy: Assist with defining systems completion strategies at project kickoff and support systems completion activities as required.
- Progress Tracking: Track and report progress on commissioning activities.
- Issue Identification and Resolution: Identify commissioning issues and propose resolutions.
- Technical Queries: Develop Technical Queries and follow through on resolution.
- Interface with Operations: Interface effectively with operations groups to maintain synergy with the project team and facilitate smooth handover of project systems.
- Lessons Learned: Participate in post-project reviews and capture and implement lessons learned for future projects.
- Engineering Manual Development: Assist with the development of engineering manuals.
- Proposal and Bid Documentation: Develop proposals and bid documentation.
- Weekly Updates: Issue weekly updates as required.
- Client Satisfaction: Ensure client satisfaction through effective project delivery and QA/QC.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Interface with other project disciplines, such as Subsea, Export P/L, etc.
- Project Documentation: Ensure correct project/deliverable documentation.
- Compliance and Culture: Adhere to GATE policies and procedures in a positive manner and contribute to creating a positive and professional culture within GATE.
- Communication and Presentations: Present at monthly meetings and lunch-and-learn sessions.
- Staff Development: Promote personal and technical development of staff.
- Marketing and Sales: Participate in company marketing and sales efforts.
- Clients Feedback: Obtain feedback from clients.
- Business Opportunities: Identify and develop business opportunities.
