Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Assembler/Fabricator to join our team at Product & Tooling Technologies Inc. in Fraser, Michigan. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality manufactured parts according to instructions provided, in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities- Spot weld sheet metal assemblies (steel and aluminum) to precise specifications.
- Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications.
- Lay out and examine metal stock or workpieces to ensure that specifications are met.
- Align and fit parts according to specifications, using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers.
- Operate brake press/machining and Bridgeport equipment to produce high-quality parts.
- Perform part qualifying and quality control inspections.
- Must be experienced in blueprint reading, interpretation, and GD&T.
- Ability to perform calculations and conduct moderate analysis.
- Familiarity with robotic MIG/MAG welding (fixtures, clamping, programming, cut & etch, etc.).
- Knowledge and experience in the use of quality equipment and fabrication equipment, including lathes, mills, surface grinders, gages, torque cells, etc.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of 3 years of fixture or machining experience in manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, or process fixture field is preferred.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions- Work requires walking, sitting, climbing, bending, stooping, grasping, crouching, pushing, balancing, reaching, kneeling, and standing.
