Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Estimator to join our team at Summit Construction & Development LLC. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for estimating the scope of work for multiple projects, working closely with the Project Manager to complete accurate estimates, contracts, and bids.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform take-offs using estimating software tools to identify labor, material, and time requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Outlook, and Word, is required.
  • Conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times, and other relevant information.
  • Maintain a cost database by entering and backing up data.
  • Compose costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
  • Participate in pre-construction activities as required.
  • Prepare bid documents and other pre-qualification paperwork.
  • Assist with take-off for job proposals/bids and change order preparation.
  • Assist Project Management personnel during the construction phase with pay applications, scheduling, and other PM activities as needed.
  • Visit job sites for field verifications.
  • Understand construction language, materials, and methods and communicate effectively within the construction environment.
  • Gather project/bid requirements.
  • Solicit participation from all vendors and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and attend bid reviews conducted by management.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings as required.
Requirements
  • A strong knowledge of asphalt paving materials, methods, and equipment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of estimating experience required.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in using estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Construction estimating: 2 years (Required).
