Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Certified Teacher to join our team as an Academic Development Specialist at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida. This is a part-time position that requires a strong passion for education and a commitment to helping youth achieve their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Implementation
    • Design and implement tutoring programs, homework assistance, and reading enrichment activities for youth ages 6 to 18.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with local schools and community organizations to ensure a seamless transition of youth from school to Club programs.
  • Staff Supervision and Training
    • Supervise and train Club staff and volunteers on academic development programs and activities.
    • Provide guidance and support to staff and volunteers to ensure they are equipped to provide high-quality services to youth.
  • Program Evaluation and Improvement
    • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.
    • Collaborate with the Program Director/Unit Director to develop and implement strategies to improve program outcomes.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate effectively with Club staff, volunteers, and youth to ensure a positive and supportive environment.
    • Collaborate with other departments and organizations to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive approach to youth development.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's Degree with a valid State of Florida teaching certificate or National Teaching Accreditation.
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in education or a related field.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong knowledge of youth development principles and practices.
    • Ability to motivate and engage youth in academic development activities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Work Environment

This position requires a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate the needs of the Club and its members. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on providing high-quality services to youth.
