Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the implementation of the special education program, creating a supportive and inclusive environment for students with varying needs.
  • Develop and maintain a reading program, promoting literacy skills and a love for learning.
  • Establish effective relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, fostering a positive and collaborative school community.
  • Work one-on-one with students with disabilities, providing individualized support and accommodations.
  • Learn and maintain knowledge of policies, procedures, and reports, ensuring accurate and timely record-keeping.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive student data and information, upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
Requirements
  • Two years of accumulated college credits (48 semester hours) or a 2-year degree from an accredited college/university.
  • Experience working with school-age children with various levels of physical, mental, and behavioral needs.
  • Ability to carry out tasks requiring moderate physical exertion and some heavy lifting.
  • Background clearance through FBI and ABI processes.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to walk and stand for 85% of the work shift, with regular stooping, bending, twisting, turning, and reaching. Adequate strength, dexterity, and agility are essential for performing all tasks assigned.
