Job Summary

As a Sybase Database Administrator at The Dignify Solutions LLC, you will be responsible for providing first-class relational database management systems support. This includes being accountable for the technical delivery of database projects and database support, involvement in disaster recovery planning and testing, and ongoing upgrade and maintenance of database versioning. You will also ensure that database systems are built to Macquarie standards and with existing fleet meeting our compliance standards. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring optimum performance and availability of Macquarie's database systems, and participating in scheduled weekend and after-hours work when requested.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide server administration with a variety of database products that include SYBASE SA
* Supports the development and sustainment of SYBASE databases, including database upgrades, performance tuning, database backup, database restore, and database replication, and develop plans and procedures to support those activities.
* Develop and implement scripts to automate routine jobs and update or replace existing database installation scripts.
* Tune database for optimal performance and assist with failover activities for both the low and high side.
* Experience with change management including maintenance of multiple development, test, QA, and production environments.
* Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned and may coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals.
* May serve as a team or task lead and participate in scheduled weekend and after-hours work when requested.

Requirements

* Experience with all aspects of database administration including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, migration, capacity planning, performance tuning, query optimization, backup and recovery.
* Knowledge of SQL Server 2008 through to 2016, SQL BI, Sybase ASE 15 through to 16, Sybase Replication Server 15.2 and 15.7, and at least one of the following: Sybase MDA tables, Sybase replication server counters/monitoring, Sybase MSA replication, ASEMon for Sybase, Sybase Replication Data Assurance, and Sybase IQ or ECDA.
* Strong interpersonal skills and effective collaborating with team members, clients, and others, and experience in leading a technical team and interacting with stakeholders for requirement gathering and analysis.
* Ability to develop and implement scripts to automate routine jobs and update or replace existing database installation scripts, and tune database for optimal performance and assist with failover activities for both the low and high side.
