Senior Medical Laboratory Specialist

As a Senior Medical Laboratory Specialist, you will leverage your laboratory expertise to conduct and report results of established laboratory protocols, ensuring the highest standards of patient care. You will assess and recommend technical methodologies and procedures while facilitating smooth laboratory operations. Flexibility in work shifts and the possibility of overtime or on-call duties are integral to this role. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently receive, categorize, and prioritize specimens to guarantee precise and prompt testing.
- Execute and document laboratory procedures as requested.
- Conduct quality assurance, proficiency evaluations, routine maintenance of instruments, and manage inventory.
- Verify patient identification to minimize analytical errors and enhance patient safety.
- Analyze, assess, and draw informed conclusions from laboratory data.
- Review and improve technical methods and procedures.
- Ensure optimal laboratory operations are maintained.
- Promote continuous professional development.
- Achieve assigned objectives.
Qualifications
Education
Minimum:
Valid state licensure and/or national certification in accordance with current federal and state regulations.
Experience
Preferred:
Experience in a hospital setting is advantageous.
Minimum:
A minimum of 3 years as a Medical Technologist.
Licensure, Registration, Certification
Preferred:
ASCP certification is desirable.
Minimum:
ASCP; NCA; AMT certifications are required.
Special Skills
Minimum:
Proficiency in basic computer skills.
Training
Minimum:
State licensure and/or national certification in compliance with current federal and state regulations.
