Job Description:

We are looking for a qualified Server to join our team at Shells Seafood Restaurant. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service, manage tables, and ensure a smooth dining experience for our guests.

You will work in a fast-paced environment, develop your communication skills, and build relationships with our customers and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare the restaurant for opening by setting up tables and chairs and stocking side stations.
  • Complete opening side work such as portioning sauces, cutting lemons, brewing ice tea, etc.
  • Ensure tables are ready for Guests. Clean tops and seats, condiments filled and clean.

  • Greet Guests, introduce yourself, and present menu specials in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist Host Team as needed to seat Guests.
  • Follow Points of Service.
  • Suggestively sell additional menu items that will complement the Guest's order.
  • Properly enter Guest's food and beverage orders into the Toast system to ensure accurate orders.
  • Check food and beverage orders for accuracy, add garnish to plates, and insist that all products meet standards for presentation, taste, and temperature.
  • Run food and beverages to the Guests according to proper serving procedures.
  • Maintain a clean work environment by completing side work.
  • Pre-buss tables (remove empty glasses and plates).
  • Assist in seating Guests at tables, answering the phone, and taking To Go orders.
  • Anticipate Guests' needs and contribute to the Guest experience (refill drinks, help prepare plates, etc.).
  • Conduct follow-ups with Guests to assess food and beverage quality, additional requests, etc.
  • Check IDs for drinking Guests, handle intoxicated Guests in the proper manner.
  • Pick up debris off the floor and clean up spills promptly.
  • Handle Guests' complaints following Shells Recovery Standards.
  • Present Guests with their checks, collect payment, and return change and receipt to the Guest.
  • Thank Guests for dining at Shells to promote return visits.
