The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Field Enumerator to support our organization's mission to grow and enhance American agriculture. As a Field Enumerator, you will play a crucial role in collecting agricultural data on behalf of the United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS).
Key Responsibilities- Conduct interviews with farmers, ranchers, and other agricultural businesses to collect data on crop yields, livestock production, and other agricultural statistics.
- Travel to designated fields to perform crop counts and gather data on agricultural production.
- Maintain and deliver detailed and legible records of interviews, crop counts, mileage, expenditures, and hours worked.
- Represent NASDA and the benefits of enumerators in all survey actions.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, using a personal vehicle to travel to designated fields.
- Experience multitasking in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
- Ability to positively represent NASDA and the benefits of enumerators in all survey actions.
- Ability to make crop counts in designated fields.
- Ability to maintain a reliable personal vehicle.
- Ability to conduct interviews in person or by telephone with farm operators and other individuals.
- Knowledge about computers or iPads.
