Assistant Manager Overview

The Assistant Manager is a key leadership role that plays a critical part in the success of our stores. As an Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for leading all activities related to providing exceptional associate and client engagement. This includes leading activities to achieve all store goals, including financial objectives, client service, talent management, operational controls, asset protection, and safety, and merchandise presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead with a high degree of integrity and demonstrate care for all associates
  • Support all aspects of talent management, including recruiting, hiring, training, development, performance management, recognition, retention, and succession planning
  • Assist in filling positions with qualified talent and develop internal bench strength
  • Support a personalized onboarding experience that positions associates for excellence in their role and career progression
  • Partner with the Store Manager to recognize opportunities and adjust strategy to align with business demands
  • Prioritize and control workload through successful planning and delegation
  • Manage controllable expenses and comply with Asset Protection policies and practices
Requirements
  • Strong communication, supervisory, and customer service skills
  • 6 months to 1 year of specialty retail experience, preferably in a selling environment
  • Prior management experience is preferred
  • Technology proficiency and strong business acumen
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English; other languages are desirable
  • High school diploma (or equivalent) is required
Physical Demands
  • Constantly move throughout the store to assist customers, retrieve merchandise, complete floor sets, unpack and replenish stock, and complete other tasks
  • Frequently operate a computerized register system
  • Respond in person to occasional, unscheduled store banking requirements and store alarms
  • Adjust or move objects (garment racks, mannequins, etc.) or merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds in all directions on a frequent basis
  • Retrieve merchandise displayed or stored above shoulder level on a frequent basis, which may include climbing an 8-foot ladder
