Position Summary:

This role is focused on executing evening housekeeping responsibilities (3:30 PM - 12:00 AM) within the Card Casino and other designated areas. The position supports the organization’s mission and values by delivering unparalleled entertainment experiences while adhering to the principles of the Canterbury Way.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exemplify a high standard of hospitality and professionalism.
  • Foster a positive work environment, encouraging teamwork and collaboration.
  • Conduct housekeeping tasks in the Card Casino, including dusting, mopping, disinfecting, vacuuming, window washing, and sweeping.
  • Manage waste disposal and recycling by emptying and relining receptacles.
  • Restock restroom supplies as necessary.
  • Assist with event preparations.
  • Ensure the facility is ready for daily operations.

Supervision:

  • This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to lift, move, and arrange chairs and tables.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment screening, including a background check and work history verification.
  • Must be able to obtain an MRC license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in housekeeping is advantageous.
  • Background in customer service is preferred.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to effectively perform the essential functions of this role. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

  • This position requires frequent standing, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, bending, and climbing, as well as repetitive movements.
  • Flexibility in scheduling is necessary, with availability for days, nights, weekends, and holidays during the racing season.
  • Work may be performed outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds and frequently use hands or wrists.
  • Ability to operate a 35 lbs. backpack vacuum or blower is required.
