Job Overview:

The Food Runner/Register is responsible for accurately processing orders and managing the cash drawer. This role involves expediting and delivering food to tables, ensuring that each dish is complete and accurately matched with the corresponding order.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently take orders and maintain an accurate cash register.
  • Deliver food and beverages promptly while ensuring order accuracy and quality standards.
  • Adhere to safe food and beverage handling practices in compliance with local regulations.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of the menu and confidently communicate it to guests.
  • Report any guest concerns or special requests to the manager or chef.
  • Maintain cleanliness throughout the restaurant, including dining areas, bar, and restrooms.
  • Complete assigned side-work and other tasks as needed.
  • Present a professional appearance and uphold good personal hygiene.
  • Set up workstations and perform side duties as per specifications.
  • Attend all scheduled staff meetings unless otherwise approved.
  • Follow company standards and procedures for serving food and clearing tables.
  • Assist servers and collaborate with team members to enhance guest experiences.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as directed by management.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a restaurant setting.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage offerings.
  • Able to work effectively in a team and follow directions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Physical capability to stand and move quickly throughout shifts.
  • Ability to lift and transport items weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally and 35 pounds regularly.
  • Effective oral communication skills in a professional manner.
