Job Summary

ProMedica is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our physicians in their daily tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner.
  • Review patient charts prior to exams to anticipate procedures and supplies needed.
  • Obtain patient histories, update medications, and perform testing prior to physician exams.
  • Administer drops and therapeutic in-office medications as instructed by physicians.
  • Instruct patients on medications and treatment, answer questions, and follow up as needed.
  • Follow up with pharmacies for renewals and prior authorizations as instructed by physicians.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms, reception areas, and other designated areas.
  • Clean and sterilize equipment, maintain autoclaves, and stock exam rooms.
  • Ensure route slips are complete and accurate.
  • May function at the front desk, answer phones, and make appointments.
  • May function as a Medical Scribe, following Medical Scribe policy SP17-14.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate/GED.
  • Working knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  • Demonstrate basic computer skills.
  • Able to promote a strong commitment to customer satisfaction and patient experience.
  • Must be able to understand directions, communicate, and respond to inquiries.
  • Must be able to demonstrate good judgment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to move about the practice/department and between workstations.
  • Must be able to occasionally push or lift medium to heavy equipment, supplies, and patients.
