About the Job

We are seeking an experienced Hospital Operator to join our team at Nuvance Health's Norwalk Hospital in Norwalk, Connecticut. As a key member of our front desk team, you will play a critical role in providing excellent customer service and supporting the smooth operation of our hospital.

This is a part-time position working 24 hours per week, with variable shifts including every other weekend. If you have a passion for delivering exceptional patient care and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer and route incoming calls to the main number, emergency lines, and patient information lines
  • Maintain up-to-date computerized databases and on-call schedules
  • Provide accurate information regarding Nuvance Health's Norwalk Hospital, its patients, and staff
  • Ensure adherence to all Nuvance Health policies and procedures
  • Exhibit strong customer service and telephone skills

Requirements:

  • HS Graduate or GED with 6 months job-related experience
  • Basic MS Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word, and data entry skills
  • Strong telephone and customer service skills; ability to remain calm during stressful situations
  • Preference given to applicants with telephone switchboard experience
