Shipping Operations Manager

This position is responsible for maintaining high levels of accuracy in day-to-day operations. The successful candidate will lead and develop the Shipping Department team, provide excellent customer service, and work with management to ensure efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor department personnel to ensure tasks are being managed effectively.
- Implement and enforce warehouse procedures to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Ensure all product is accessible to production to avoid delays or downtime.
- Provide training and guidance to new employees on relevant job duties.
- Maintain warehouse integrity and maximize space efficiency by organizing product and materials.
- Collaborate with the supervisor to identify opportunities for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Review daily reports to plan and prioritize tasks.
- Schedule employees according to volume needs.
- Work with cross-functional teams to determine shipping and packaging priorities.
- Ensure inventory levels are accurate and up-to-date.
- Identify and resolve safety issues promptly.
- Participate in internal audits and corrective actions to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
- Oversee all shipping activities to ensure accuracy and condition of all orders.
- Ensure all personnel are aware of their assignments and report to work on time.
- Maintain a clean and operational work environment, adhering to safety and GMP protocols.
- Inspect areas regularly to ensure compliance with state regulations.
- Assist with outgoing product to ensure accuracy and condition of shipments.
- Monitor loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications.
- Comply with records and document all shipping logs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Follow the chain of command and report any issues or concerns to the supervisor.
- Notify the supervisor before leaving a job post or area.
- Wear an employee badge ID at all times while in the facility.
- Identify locations for all incoming and outgoing product.
- Conduct accurate cycle counts of inventory locations and forms in the warehouse.
- Research and resolve inventory discrepancies and perform inventory audits of SOPs.
- Respond to requests for product checks in the warehouse.
- Assist with research of non-conformities as needed in collaboration with the quality department.
- Deal with customers and drivers daily.
- Exercise attention to detail and prioritize work to meet assigned deadlines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Be available to work weekend shifts as needed.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in math, English, reading, and writing.
- Professional demeanor and ability to assist others effectively.
- Self-motivated, well-organized, and able to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player with the ability to cooperate with various personalities and individuals.
- Flexibility to adjust to changes in direction or assignment.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks during a work shift.
- Willingness to comply with new programs, methods, practices, and procedures.
- Accomplish annual goals established by the supervisor and management.
- Follow company policy and safety rules.
- Ensure personal protective equipment is properly utilized.
- Report any noncompliance issues or unsafe situations/equipment to the supervisor immediately.
- Follow company Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Enforce and actively participate in general housekeeping duties.
