Surgical Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Altru Health. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality surgical care in the operating room. Your expertise in sterile and aseptic technique will ensure a safe and efficient surgical environment.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and organize case set-ups, identifying and communicating any unusual techniques or instruments required for surgery.
- Clean, assemble, operate, and properly care for instruments, supplies, and equipment used in surgical specialties.
- Provide patient care according to diagnosis or procedure, utilizing procedure cards and following established hospital policies and procedures.
- Document procedure changes on procedure cards following each case, adhering to standard operating procedures.
- Participate in measuring and monitoring Quality Indicators and outcomes.
- Perform pain assessment and take appropriate action according to standard operating procedure.
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
- Unlicensed Assistive Person - Technician (UAP/T) certification from the North Dakota Board of Nursing or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification from the North Dakota Board of Nursing or Compact State Agreement.
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) certification from the National Board of Surgical Tech-Surgical Assist (NBSTSA) is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 90 days of start date.
- Associate's degree in Surgical Technology or related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of related experience preferred.
- Ability to sit occasionally (5-33%), stand continuously (67-100%), walk continuously (67-100%), stoop/bend occasionally (5-33%), reach frequently (34-66%), and handle/finger/feel continuously (67-100%).
- Ability to lift, carry, push/pull, and slide/transfer medium-weight objects (20-40 pounds).
- Ability to work in an indoor environment with occasional exposure to extreme temperatures.
This position requires infrequent driving.
