About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety and Compliance Specialist to join our team at Yusen Logistics (Americas) Inc. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all business units are in compliance with Yusen Logistics Global Safety Policy and regulatory agency guidelines.
  • OSHA Program Development and Implementation: Assist with rolling out OSHA program guidelines, ensure proper OSHA record management system is maintained, and complete required OSHA reports.
  • Safety Policy and Procedure Development: Review and update safety policies and practices to ensure they are current and appropriate, conduct hazard and risk assessments, and develop new or revised safety policies and procedures.
  • Training and Development: Deliver safety and health-related training in accordance with Yusen Logistics, state, and federal requirements.
  • Incident Investigation and Analysis: Analyze accident statistics and trends, conduct on-site reviews of accident scenes, collect pertinent data and information, and document and report findings.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate with safety coordinators across the organization to develop business-unit specific safety policies, address workers' compensation issues, and identify training needs.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's degree in Occupational Safety or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in environmental health and safety compliance, or equipment operator/material handler experience.
  • Skills: Ability to write MECE principle and structured documents, analyze workplace incidents, and suggest alternative methods to prevent injury in the future.
