About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the principal in coordinating the efficient operation of the assigned middle school. This includes providing instructional leadership, promoting a positive school climate, and developing student leaders. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Educational Administration, a Texas principal or other appropriate Texas certificate, and experience as a classroom teacher.

Key Responsibilities

  • Instructional Leadership: Encourage and support the development of skills for future-ready learners, including embracing challenges, communicating, collaborating, contributing, innovation, and responding.
  • School Climate and Culture: Promote social emotional learning for students and staff, foster a supportive and inclusive culture, and encourage a growth mindset among learners.
  • Organizational Transformation: Promote a culture of innovation centered on the district and school vision, empower others to become innovators, risk-takers, and leaders of learning, and model the effective use of data for analysis and instructional improvement.
  • Student Leadership: Assist in providing students with opportunities to take ownership of their learning and responsibility for their own behaviors, promote and support a safe learning environment, and work with faculty and students to develop a student discipline management system.
  • Personnel Leadership: Assist in selecting, developing, and retaining future-ready staff, promote active participation, leadership, and collaboration with campus educators, and monitor and evaluate staff performance.
  • Management of Fiscal, Administrative, and Facilities Functions: Manage the use of school facilities, supervise reporting and monitoring of student attendance, work with department heads and faculty to compile annual budget requests, and coordinate transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services.
  • Student Management: Ensure that students are adequately supervised during non-instructional periods, help to develop a student discipline management system, and conduct conferences on student and school issues with parents, students, and teachers.
  • Professional Growth and Development: Demonstrate a growth mindset as a continuous learner, continually self-educate, monitor and adjust, evaluate change, and seek and utilize appropriate resources.
  • School and Community Relations: Provide a balanced partnership between a community and school, invite partnerships to create real-world learning opportunities for students, articulate the school's mission to the community, and demonstrate awareness of school and community needs and values.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Educational Administration
  • Texas principal or other appropriate Texas certificate
  • Experience as a classroom teacher
  • Minimum of three years of experience as a classroom teacher
  • Middle School teaching experience preferred

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $85,000-$105,000 per year, based on experience. Frisco Independent School District offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
