Job Overview


The Mustang Special Utility District is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Compliance Technician to join our team. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the district adheres to all environmental regulations and standards set by agencies such as the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Salary Information

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.



Job Responsibilities



  • Collect and deliver required water samples for analysis, identifying potential compliance issues in the system
  • Work with other departments at Mustang, maintaining accurate records for regulatory reporting, collecting any other assigned samples, and flushing dead-end mains
  • Collaborate with the wastewater department, transporting grab samples to laboratories and driving couriers to sites for analytical results reporting
  • Assist other team members with projects beyond the scope of daily duties


Required Skills and Qualifications



  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • General knowledge of basic construction hand tools and water systems
  • Must obtain a TCEQ Class "D" Water License within 6 months of hire date, and a Class "C" Water License within 4 years or before the "D" license expires
  • Driver's License: Must have a valid Texas Class "C" driver's license
  • Background Check: Must pass a drug test, driver's license check, criminal history background check, and social security number verification
