Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled TIG Welder to join our team at Johnson Controls, a leading provider of innovative refrigeration solutions. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for welding stainless steel subassemblies according to ASME code, applying proficiency in 6G welding techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welding and Fabrication
    • Weld stainless steel subassemblies according to ASME code, applying proficiency in 6G welding techniques.
    • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine welding requirements.
    • Select appropriate welding methods, tools, and materials based on project specifications and materials being used.
    • Set up welding equipment and operate machinery to join, fabricate, and repair metal components and structures.
    • Perform various welding tasks with precision and attention to detail, ensuring high-quality welds and strong structural integrity.
    • Monitor and maintain welding equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
    • Inspect welded joints and structures to identify and address defects or imperfections.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Collaborate with Team Lead to ensure timely completion of assigned projects.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • TIG welding experience.
    • Ability to pass the 6G TIG Test.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Willing and able to work 1st shift, with flexibility to work overtime when needed.
    • Demonstrated positive work history and reliable attendance record.
    • Strong self-directed and proactive work ethic.
    • Physical stamina to stand, bend, and lift heavy objects as required.
