Key Responsibilities- Provide Routine Care: Administer medications, take vital signs, and provide general observation of clients' health status.
- Assist RN and Physician: Assist in treatments, communicate with clients and their families/guardians, and report changes in condition or additional client needs to the supervisor.
- Coordinate Admissions and Discharges: Coordinate admissions, discharges, and follow-up as needed, ensuring a smooth transition for clients.
- Participate in Quality Improvement Activities: Participate in quarterly quality improvement activities, weekly team/staff meetings, and Interdisciplinary Team meetings (IDT/PDP) to ensure high-quality care and services.
- Supervise and Educate Non-Licensed Staff: Provide supervision and education for non-licensed staff in the provision of care and services, ensuring they are equipped to deliver high-quality care.
- Education: Completion of a state-approved training program (e.g., diploma, associate's degree, etc. per state requirement).
- Licensure: Must be a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN or LVN, per state licensure requirements) in good standing.
- CPR Certification: Must have current CPR certification.
- Experience: Must have at least 6 months of direct nursing experience, with experience in providing services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities or related disorders preferred.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate (verbally and written) with all levels of personnel, internal and external to the company.
ResCare Community Living has four decades of experience in the disability services field, providing support to individuals who need assistance with daily living due to an intellectual, developmental or cognitive disability. Our community living services are provided in 27 states with several thousand programs and a comprehensive range of high-quality services, including community living, adult host homes, behavioral/mental health support, in-home pharmacy solutions, telecare and remote support, supported employment and training programs, and day programs.
