We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our team at GPI. As a key member of our Structural Inspections team, you will be responsible for conducting underwater inspections of various structures, including bridges, bulkheads, dams, marinas, piers, ports, seawalls, and wharves. Your technical expertise will include condition and quality control, structural design and analysis, and preparing technical reports for rehabilitations and project repairs.
Responsibilities
As a Structural Engineer at GPI, you will be responsible for:
- Planning, directing, and monitoring marine engineering and diving projects
- Preparing design calculations, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for review and approval
- Preparing preliminary concept designs and submitting for approval
- Providing comprehensive knowledge of all facets of commercial diving and ADCI requirements for surface-supplied air diving
- Project Management experience is preferred
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- B.S. in Civil engineering with an emphasis in Structural design
- 5+ years of experience in underwater inspections, commercial dive operations, and marine engineering projects
- PE in Florida or other states, preferred
- National Highway Institute (NHI) Bridge Inspection certification is a plus
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR)
- Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
- Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails, and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
- Able to stand for approximately 3 hours minimum a day up to 8 hours
- Able to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material, with a variation of elevation 19 inches or less
- Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
- Able to move equipment or inspection specimens weighing up to 50 pounds
