POSITION OVERVIEW


Sciens Building Solutions is in search of a Construction Project Supervisor to lead an installation crew in delivering projects efficiently and within budget constraints.

This role primarily involves fieldwork, ensuring that installations comply with all relevant regulations and uphold the quality benchmarks set by Sciens.

Safety is paramount at Sciens, and this position is tasked with enforcing all safety protocols and work practices.

The Construction Project Supervisor will also focus on employee management and development, including creating training pathways for skill enhancement.

This role reports directly to the Operations Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure installations adhere to relevant codes and standards.
  • Deliver projects within the established timelines and budget.
  • Engage directly with clients to maintain high satisfaction levels.
  • Communicate potential change orders to the Project Manager for evaluation and processing.
  • Ensure all team members comply with Sciens safety regulations.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and development opportunities for team members, participating in performance reviews as needed.
  • Review daily reports from technicians for accuracy and make necessary corrections.
  • Ensure completion of all timecards, notes, and reports by the end of each workday, making corrections as needed.
  • Collaborate with schedulers and Project Managers to adjust project timelines when technicians are unavailable.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all field-related concerns.
  • Participate in quarterly departmental meetings and assist in preparing agendas.
  • Prepare incident reports for any injuries, including completing a corrective action report.
  • Assist in developing training programs for the Solutions team.
  • Review and participate in system pretests to ensure readiness for final inspections.
  • Review and participate in final inspections to facilitate system acceptance.
  • Regularly visit project sites to assess work progress, quality, and safety, preparing reports detailing any necessary corrective actions.
  • Provide quarterly summaries of project performance, identifying issues and recommending corrective action plans or training needs.
  • Suggest improvements for efficiency in project installations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two to five years of experience in a supervisory role within the commercial fire detection or suppression sector.
  • Strong understanding of fire protection regulations and operations.
  • Experience and certifications in EST and Fenwal systems.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations.
  • Proficient in current NFPA 72 inspection, testing, and troubleshooting standards.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, decision-making, and communication abilities.
  • Strong computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Fire Life Safety Certification or Electrical Certification - State of California.
