English as a Second Language Instructor

GeorgiaGov is seeking a qualified English as a Second Language (ESL) instructor to join our team in Clarkston, DeKalb County. As an ESL instructor, you will be responsible for teaching English language skills to students with limited proficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enroll, instruct, and supervise students in ESL classes
  • Develop program and course outlines aligned with the Technical College System of Georgia Curriculum framework
  • Evaluate student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Develop and maintain classroom management procedures and documentation
  • Assist with recruitment and retention efforts
  • Ensure a safe and secure learning environment
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, including in-service training, workshops, and conferences
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from a nationally or regionally accredited college or university
  • Completed course comparable with the curriculum taught or experience/expertise in the area of curriculum taught
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Work experience in Adult Education or English as a Second Language instruction
  • Paid or volunteer experience working with immigrants/refugees
