About the Role:

This RN position will play a vital role in the Navigated Patient Scheduling Center, where you will be responsible for triaging incoming calls and providing exceptional patient care. As a member of the healthcare team, you will assume primary accountability for nursing coordination and provision of individualized care for patients of all ages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Triage incoming calls and direct patients to the appropriate resources, including liaison nurses, physicians, emergency rooms, or urgent care centers.
  • Schedule patient appointments and process referrals, collecting demographic and insurance data as needed.
  • Provide patient education and answer clinical questions, consulting with callers regarding classes and services that may benefit them.
  • Collect data for quality processes and service improvement, consistently demonstrating the role of patient advocate, protector of patient rights, and provider of psychological/social/cultural support.
  • Apply knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for patients served, providing feedback to staff using appropriate communication and documentation.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a school of professional nursing, with a BS RN or CNS RN preferred.
  • 4 years of varied nursing experience, with some inpatient nursing experience required and ambulatory nursing experience preferred.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Virginia or eligible to sit for the Virginia licensure exam.
