As an EMR Specialist, you will be responsible for retrieving medical documentation through high-volume outbound calls to medical offices and electronically accessing multiple medical facilities' EMR systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Document Retrieval: Make designated number of outbound calls daily for document and test retrieval, managing incoming/out-going phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
  • EMR System Access: Utilize computer skills for secure HIPAA-compliant access to multiple EMR systems for document retrieval.
  • Tracking and Reporting: Track clinical documentation in a timely manner, reporting and following up on outstanding clinical documentation.
  • Adherence to EMR Standards: Adhere to the EMR standards, practices, and policies for the CMR Department.
  • Support and Collaboration: Support the CMR department during the CMS audit and perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent
  • Technical Skills: Strong computer skills, with experience in Microsoft Office and EHR experience preferred
  • Communication and Organizational Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills, excellent phone etiquette, and strong clerical and organizational skills
  • Customer Service: Strong customer service skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge and Experience: HIPAA knowledge, familiarity with medical records terminology, and experience with electronic medical records preferred
