Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Land Surveyor to join our team at Jobot. As a key member of our Civil Engineering and Surveying department, you will be responsible for providing expert surveying services to our clients in the El Paso and West Texas area.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Scope: Calculate and verify boundaries for subdivisions, ALTA/ACSM surveys, and easements. Compose metes and bounds descriptions to identify parcels with bearings and distances. Research deeds and other legal land documents to determine parcel boundaries and right-of-way limits for subdivision plats.
- Communications: Consult/communicate with client representatives to assist with the coordination of project activities relative to the company's scope of services. Communicate with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates - Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, or in person.
- Project Management: Assist project managers and engineers with development of project scope, goals, deliverables, schedules, professional service proposals, and cost estimates. Prepare progress reports for management/client. Assist with Job Plan preparation. Prepare field/office work assignments and work orders.
- Mentorship: Mentor staff to ensure knowledge growth, compliance with state and federal laws and regulations, company policies, and client policies.
- QAQC/Evaluation: Develop and implement survey operation procedures. Provide Quality Assurance and Quality Control Inspection of field survey activities to verify that the quality of work performed complies with project specifications and drawings.
Requirements
- Current Texas Registered Professional Land Surveyor license
- Current New Mexico Registered Professional Land Surveyor license (a plus)
- 5+ years of experience as RPLS
- 10+ years of experience in surveying
- Solid working knowledge of current survey equipment and software technologies, including Trimble and AutoCAD
- Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
- Must be proficient in AutoCAD and Trimble software
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office
- Proficiency with ESRI and GIS Database management and collection strategies (a plus)
